The Zaros godsword is a new godsword, released along with the God Wars Dungeon expansion update. It requires 75 Attack to wield. It is made by combining the Zaros hilt, which is dropped by Lord Shadowcore in the God Wars Dungeon, and the Godsword blade.
Its special attack, Merciless Soul, can only be used if you have level 50 Prayer or above, as well as 100% prayer points, and are currently fighting an opponent (Player or monster). When used, it doubles all of your hits, until you either kill your target, or stop attacking the target. This attack drains 100% of your special attack bar, and drains all of your prayer points as a price.
The Zaros godsword is becoming increasingly popular in safe PvP minigames because of its highly destructive special attack. You can, however, tell if a player is currently using the special, as their eyes will momenterily flash red, and ghostly purple smoke will wisp off of them.
Due to its rarity and outstanding Special Attack, the price of the Godsword was set at 75,000,000 coins. It then quickly rose upwards because of the high demand, reaching its peak at 230m, after which it started to go down, and now hovers around 82.5m.

Trivia
Edit
- The Zaros Godsword used to be called the "Ancient godsword", but was changed because of players complaining that it could be confused with the Armadyl godsword, which is also commonly called AGS. Jagex solved this problem by changing the name to "Zaros godsword", but now players are complaining that it can be confused with the Zamorak godsword, as it is called the ZGS.
