The Voyage to the Edge of the World was the eighth film in the Planet of the Lost movie saga. It is basically a cinematized version of Voyage to the Edge of the World, with some little differences. It is a loose sequal to Revenge of the Alone Ones

Of all the Planet of the Lost films so far Voyage to the Edge of the world was the most successful. Rotten Tomatoes reported that 92% of reviewers gave the film a positive review, mostly extremely postive, from 312 reviews. Metacritic gave the film 97 out of 100 from 83 reviews. The film's budget of £203,000,000 was paid back four times over, meaning the film made a profit of £612,000,000, making it almost but not quite as successful as Jurassic Park: The Lost World. This caused it to become the 37th highest grossing film of all time, knocking Monsters Inc. of the chart. In light of these profits a sequel was quickly prepared. As of yet this project is currently known as "Voyage to the Edge of the World 2", "Voyage 2", or "VEW 2".
