A steel musket is a two-handed, members only ranged weapon and is the third type of musket available in RuneScape. To wield a steel musket, the player must have completed the Mysterious East quest and traveled to Cholfel once, in addition to having 20 Ranged and 25 Firemaking.

It uses gunpowder to shoot, and can hold 3 gunpowder at a time. Muskets take a long time to fire, and unlike other weapons, they can occasionally become jammed, meaning it will need to be cleaned. It can be cleaned by clicking the 'Cleanse' button. It takes a full minute to clean.

Players who have completed Mysterious East quest and have level 27 Smithing can make a steel musket from two steel bars, granting 75 Smithing experience.

To obtain a steel musket, player can either buy one from the Blacksmiths in Shuweiwu, smith one with 2 steel bars, or buy one from other players or at the Grand Exchange.

Trivia

• Like all other steel weapons, the steel musket used to require 5 Ranged to wield; this was changed to 20 Ranged with the Evolution of Combat.
