Slayers' Union

The Slayers' Union is an organisation which features heavily in the story series Gielinor, mainly due to one of the most prominent characters, Tarqinder, being a member.

The Slayers' Union's role is to defend the main kingdoms which consist of Misthalin, Asgarnia and Kandarin from the threats posed by the various species across the realm.

Formed some time ago, the Slayers' Union was made to defend against the various threats posed by the powerful creatures across the world. The group had many individual members who specified in slaying a certain species, but they also undertook several missions where extreme danger was suspected such as a monstrous beast living under Karamja which took the lives of many Slayers ("The Cult of the Golden Ape").

In the year 175, due to the economy crisis and loss of faith after the death of one of its members during an expedition in the Wilderness ("He Who Slays Dragons"), funding was cut and the group disbanded ("Tarqinder's Journey").

Once the economy crisis was ended by a violent battle in Ardougne ("The Battle of Ardougne"), Varrock was brought back to power. Ardougne which was behind the crisis had obtained a new leader, Harmon Reeves who donated enough money for the Union to reform ("The Cult of the Golden Ape").

After the Red Mist attacked Varrock the group was forced to evacuate and temporarily disband once again.

The Slayers' Union is known across the three kingdoms and they are very much respected. Only the most powerful of warriors who are of age may join and they are tested by a series of trials and tasks which involve journeying into the deep and dangerous Khazari Jungle.

The Union also relies on funding from the main monarchies who they defend to operate as they require weaponry, armour and the best possible places to train.

[edit] Meeting Hall

The group have regular meetings where they discuss the latest threats and tasks are assigned to each Slayer. These meetings take place in a meeting hall located underneath the Grand Exchange in Varrock which can be reached by a trapdoor.

The location of the hall is within close proximation of the Wilderness, as this is where the most prominent threats come from.
