[edit] Synopsis

The team are sent to Brimhaven to study the deaths of various pirates in the area. Dubbing it a "relaxing break", it soon turns out that an anomoly from the start of the Fourth Age had opened, and huge killer crabs as well as a horde of poisonous insects come through looking for an easy meal...

[edit] Plot

Brimhaven:

A lone pirate stumbled out of the bar, and headed towards the sea rather drunk. In front of him, a strange glow appeared; it was an anomoly. The pirate picked up a rock and threw it at the anomoly, but suddenly a large crab pounced through the anomoly, five foot in size, snapping its claws vicously at the pirate, and then it lunged at the doomed man with its claws wide open...

Title sequence...

GDG Base:

"Guess what - some of us are going on holiday to Brimhaven!" Drauss beamed manically.

"I don't believe that for a minute, now what is actually going on?" Cratus replied.

"Well you're right Cratus, it isn't really a holiday, but a new case: we've just had word in that someone called Pirate Jackie the Fruit has found a corpse, and it looks like a huge animal attacked it. Oh yeah, and there are some massive poisonous insects on the loose," Drauss said with an unhappy look on his face.

Brimhaven:

Drauss, Cratus, Mordi and Thyra arrived at Brimhaven, and not a moment to soon - an oversized jungle spider was tearing away at the roof of the bar with Cap'n Izzy No-Beard trapped inside. Mordi produced a firecracker from inside her pocket and threw it at the creature, blasting it and the roof off.

"Where on Gielinor did you get that from?" Drauss asked.

"An old friend, I knew it would come in handy one day," Mordi replied.

"Well that spider looks pretty dead," Cratus said, walking towards it.

"Do you think it came from an anomoly?" Drauss asked.

"A what?" Cap'n Izzy asked curiously.

"Strange glowing light, noticed any recently?" Drauss asked.

"Ah yes, the damn things have been sprouting up all over the place," Cap'n Izzy said.

"Well I'm pretty sure that the spider is far too big, it can't be from this time era. When I was studying Gielinor's history back in my education we learnt about Karamja's past. I remember hearing about huge spiders and scorpions all dripping with venom. This must be from the Fourth Age," Cratus said.

"So you lot believe in time travel? You be as mad as a man who believes he could convert all of Morytania into Sarodominists..." Cap'n Izzy said. Pirate Jackie the Fruit ran over, with a sword clasped firmly in her hand.

"What is that?" Jackie asked looking at the spider.

"Apparently it be's from the past..." Cap'n Izzy said confused.

Brimhaven, Night:

Another anomoly faded into existence, and out came a swarm of incredibly large mosquitoes, buzzing away at the night. Most of the GDG members were asleep in the ruins of the bar, but Drauss couldn't sleep as he looked up through the now destroyed roof. A faint buzzing could be heard in the background, and Drauss looked up to see the swarm of mosquitoes shooting down, heading for their prey.

"Everybody out!" Drauss yelled as a large wing shot past him. Everyone ran out, save Mordi who let a mosquito dive straight at her, but ran at the last minute using her incredible speed which caused the flying bug to crash head first into the wall killing it.

"Haha mosquito!" Mordi yelled, but her celebrations were cut short as another mosquito dived at her injecting her with a lethal dose of poison causing her to collapse.

"Mordi!" Drauss yelled as he ran to her. "Do we have any medical equipment?"

"No, the boat from Port Sarim has a weight limit," Cratus replied.

"The blasted boat company! Jackie, Izzy, do you have anything that heals poison?" Drauss asked.

"Yes, it's in the building next to the Agility Arena entrance," Jackie piped up, gesturing towards a building that was being rampaged through by a large scorpion, raising its tail and lashing out at another scorpion that had just entered.

"I can get in there without them hearing," Thyra said dashing towards the building. She entered, narrowly missing the scorpion's tail. Due to how silent she was, the scorpions couldn't hear her. She grasped the medical kit just before a scorpion tail shattered the table. As she proceeded to leave the room, she broke a piece of glass beneath her feet and the two scorpions turned at her and pursued. As she exited she threw the medical kit to Jackie who began to cure Mordi with anti-poison. Thyra managed to shake the scorpions off her tail, and Mordi stumbled up and distracted the beasts as well as the remaining mosquitoes. She ran towards the anomoly but dived out the way as the creatures entered. The anomoly closed.

Brimhaven, An hour later...:

"So you say a giant crab killed the pirate?" Drauss asked.

"Yes, I saw it going into the water from the bar," Jackie replied.

"Well then, we'll just have to wait for old crabby to come to us," Cratus said. They didn't have long to wait, as the huge shadow of a crab hovered over the side of the bar (which was now very damaged). It smashed it's claw through the last intact window. "Now that's as big as a Macr-" The creature tore away at the debris, and the group lied against the wall facing apparent death. Then a large sword flew through the air and pierced the creature's skin.

"I always had a good shot," Jackie said as the creature stumbled outside.

"Don't suppose you have anymore swords Jackie?" Drauss asked.

"I thought you'd never ask," Jackie said as she tore up a floorboard revealing six rune scimitars. "Secret stash we keep here for defense, just in case of a pirate attack." The crab was soon blasted down in a shower of blades killing it.

Brimhaven, Next morning:

Izzy and Jackie said their farewells to Drauss, Cratus, Mordi and Thydra, and thanked them for their help.

"If anymore of these brutes come back, call us immediately," Drauss said.

"Oh, I think we'll be able to take care of themselves," Jackie joked as she produced a can of insect repellent. The group chuckled, and then the GDG members departed for Port Sarim again...
