Rune dragons are located in the depths of Radiver's Dungeon. These dragons are extremely dangerous, and with their special attack Rune Smash, they are capable of hitting over 5,500, although this is rare to occur. You will also need 85 Slayer to kill these. Since they are made of metal, rune dragons have extremely high defence, but are relatively weak to magic, especially against air spells.

Drops are any kinds of Dragon items, including the dragon kiteshield (still very rare) and the Ancients set. It is known for dropping rune items very often. It also drops dragon runes more often then any other monster, maybe this could be because of the word game Rune dragon and Dragon rune (see examine text). It is hunted by many high leveled players, due it's 100% drop of a runite bar, making it a good way of making money, but some more skillful players still prefer to hunt down Dragonite dragons, or even Crystal dragons.
