A dust battlestaff is a medium power dust elemental staff. It requires 30 Attack and Magic to wield and provides an unlimited amount of earth runes and air runes. Air and earth runes are used together in all Earth spells, the Lumbridge Teleport spell and the Teleport to House spell.

The staff never degrades, which makes it useful for mages using earth spells, allowing them to cast earth spells for no cost. However, even with the unlimited stock of air and earth runes, the staff has equivalent accuracy and damage compared to the rest of the battlestaves in the game, which may make the dust battlestaff an undesirable purchase.

A dust battlestaff can be upgraded to a mystic dust staff by Thormac for 40,000 coins after completing the Scorpion Catcher quest, or for 27,000 coins after completing the Seers' Village Hard tasks.
