The damaged ultra combat suit is an item from the quest "Behind enemy lines". It used to be a normal combat suit, until its user tried to modify it. The modifications worked - for a while. Then it self-destructed, taking the owner and his home with it. The Dwarf Mechanic is determined to retrieve it, and find out what modifications and which didn't, to improve the suit.
Unlike the normal suit, it cannot be worn. However, the option still presents itself in the right-click menu. However, if you do select "Wear" a message will appear in the text box that reads: "What? Wear this? Are you crazy?"
